Nursery Registration Module

Agarwood Traceability Blockchain Platform – Technical Specification

1. Objective

The Nursery Registration Module establishes the first verified digital identity in the agarwood value chain.

It ensures that every plantlet entering the system originates from a legally registered, geo-tagged, and compliance-validated nursery.

This forms the foundation for immutable traceability from propagation to export.

2. Functional Scope

A. Nursery Onboarding

Upon registration, the following data fields are recorded:

CategoryData Points Captured
Legal IdentityNursery name, registration number, business permit
Regulatory ComplianceDENR permits, CITES registration (if applicable)
OwnershipOwner name, operator ID, digital wallet ID
LocationGPS coordinates (latitude/longitude), mapped polygon boundary
CapacityAnnual propagation capacity, species grown
CertificationOrganic / ESG / sustainability certifications

All core metadata is hashed and anchored on-chain.

B. Geo-Tagging & Mapping

  • GPS coordinates verified via mobile app
  • Satellite validation (optional integration)
  • Polygon mapping of nursery boundaries
  • Geo-fencing alerts for unauthorized production outside registered zones

This prevents unregistered propagation entering the value chain.

3. Blockchain Workflow

Step 1: Identity Verification

  • KYC verification of nursery owner
  • Digital signature generated
  • Unique Nursery ID (NFT-style digital asset) minted

Step 2: Smart Contract Execution

Nursery Registration Smart Contract performs:

  • Validation of required compliance documents
  • Hash generation of uploaded files
  • Timestamp recording
  • On-chain storage of document hashes

Step 3: Activation

Once validated:

  • Nursery status = “Verified”
  • Eligible to register plantlet batches
  • QR-based digital certificate generated

4. Data Architecture

On-Chain Data:

  • Nursery ID
  • GPS hash
  • Compliance status
  • Timestamp
  • Owner wallet address
  • Document hash references

Off-Chain Storage (IPFS / Secure Cloud):

  • Scanned permits
  • Satellite imagery
  • Photos of facilities
  • Certification documents

Only hashes are stored on-chain to ensure privacy and scalability.

5. Security Features

  • AES-256 encryption of documents
  • Multi-signature approval (Admin + Compliance Officer)
  • Immutable audit log
  • Role-based access control
  • Fraud detection triggers for duplicate GPS coordinates

6. ESG & Regulatory Alignment

The module supports:

  • Sustainable forest management verification
  • Legal propagation assurance
  • Traceable plant genetics (if linked to organogenesis/tissue culture)
  • Automated compliance reporting for export validation

7. Business Value

  • For Growers:
    • Establishes market credibility
    • Enables premium pricing
    • Access to verified buyer network
  • For Exporters:
    • Verifiable legal origin
    • Reduced compliance risk
    • Stronger GCC & international market acceptance
  • For Investors:
    • Ensures supply chain integrity from origin
    • Reduces fraud risk
    • Supports ESG-aligned capital deployment

8. Future Enhancements

  • Biometric verification for operators
  • AI-based anomaly detection (sudden capacity spikes)
  • Integration with digital land titles
  • Tokenized carbon-credit linkage for nursery-level carbon accounting
